Crazy Week!!

Image
This week was transfers! And as usual, it was nuts! But super fun!     Elder Cusworth and I will be staying together, thank goodness. There's no way I am ready to take all of this over quite yet haha. We're like brothers so it's perfect.     Tuesday we went to the temple with all of the outgoing missionaries. It was beautiful. I love the temple so much and I never want to leave when I am inside!!     We had dinner with them that night. After dinner, one of the missionaries' families came to pick him up. He lives in Southern Cali so his family just drove up to get him. I never want to see a missionary reunite with his/her family after two years ever again!!!! They all hugged and rejoiced and kissed right in front of Elder Cusworth and I and it was horrible. Well, it was a beautiful sight to see, and we were all so happy, but it made us super trunky and home sick for like 20 minutes. Elder Barbosa, one of my companions, left as well so that was super tough. I...

Hello my beloved friends and family!! I hope everybody is doing well!     This week was insane! I loved every minute of it.     Just a few updates and highlights, that's all I have time for today. Transfers are tomorrow and we still have a few things that we need to get done. Including playing basketball and stuff...     The first half of the week was all transfer planning! It was great. It's cool to see.     Friday, Elder James J. Hamula from the first quorum of the seventy, came to our mission! Friday evening Elder Cusworth and I joined President and Sister Mella, and Elder Hamula in the mission home for dinner. It was an incredible experience. Elder Hamula asked about the mission and what we can do better on. Then we all shared miracles that have happened in our lives and beautiful experiences that have come to pass.      Saturday morning Elder Hamula addressed the Mission Leadership Council. It was PHENOMENAL. He talked about "T...

Dear friends and family!!     I hope all is going well. We had a pretty awesome week!      We started the week off by going to some Zone Training Meetings around the mission. They were all awesome! The Zone Leaders did a superb job of spreading the fire throughout the mission. We're so pumped.      We had the opportunity to visit the Taylor and the Young family this week! It was so wonderful. I LOVE TEACHING SO MUCH. Taylor asked some really inspiring and soul searching questions. We're excited for her. She came to church!! Naomi Young came to church as well and she really enjoyed it! I'm not sure if we will have time to visit both of them this week, but we will try our best.      We commenced transfer planning on Friday with President Mella. It's really cool to watch The Lord inspire him.      Everything is going really well! I love it here. I love the ward, I love the people, and I love my companion! We have so much...

Such A Good Week!!

Hey everybody!! I hope all is well. I love and appreciate all of you more than you will ever know,     This week was crazy!! BYU was in town this week for the San Jose State game, so there was a ton going on. On Thursday night we went to the BYU football fireside with one of our less-active boys in our ward. It was so awesome! The players talked a lot about how they balance their spiritual and church life with football and how the BYU football program helps them to become better disciples of Christ. Afterwards I got a picture with Tanner Mangum, the QB! He's a STUD. He just got back from his mission in Chile so we spoke to each other in Spanish for a bit. Friday we had MLC! It was intense! The theme was "Lighting the mission on fire" and what the CSJM will look like on fire. We pinpointed areas throughout the mission and in the work on where we could improve and then generated some awesome discussions on how we can get the mission to start lighting up. Everyone was on boa...

WOW it was a crazy week. I don't know where to begin!     I guess I will start with the coolest part...     On Tuesday, President Mella, Elder Cusworth and myself went to a fireside/devotional at Stanford University. The meeting was in a huge memorial cathedral/church building. It was super nice. It was a fireside about becoming better scholars and disciples. The topic of discussion was the role of faith and values in the quest for knowledge. There was a really important guest speaker there! Right before the meeting commenced, President took us up to the front to introduce us to the guest speaker, Elder Quentin L. Cook of the twelve apostles! It was incredible. President introduced us and we talked to him for a minute or two. The whole time we were talking to him, he was holding my hand in his and was holding Elder Cusworth's arm (I've never felt such smooth hands before, I guess it's an apostle thing?). It was a pretty awesome experience that I will never forget! It...
