Miracles

Dear President, This week was nothing short of miracles!! I don't even know where to begin.     Artemio was good for his date at the beginning of the week, but when we passed by Tuesday, he wanted none of it!! Some random person on the street had told him that Mormons aren't allowed to worship images (this person was Catholic, and before he was baptized, Artemio was also 'Catholic'". He was extremely upset at the fact that he couldn't worship his images, like he had always done. He told us that all the churches were false and that he felt bad for being a hypocrite. He thanked us for our time and and apologized. We could have walked away and nothing would have ever happened, he never would have been baptized. But we weren't going to let months of work with him go down the drain without a fight. Yes, the adversary had been working him like nothing I have ever seen before, but we are representatives of Jesus Christ. We talked him into letting us come in to sha...

A Weekend Of Beauty.

Image
My friends and family! I hope everyone is as happy as can be. I hope you all had a splendid week.     This past week was one of the most stressful, exhausting, anxious, yet most rewarding weeks of my mission thus far. Artemio, Cesar, Josephine, and Augustine were all baptized! And I was lucky enough to see both services.     If I could describe the joy I felt when I saw Artemio and Augustine enter into the waters of baptism, I would. But I simply cannot. Both have been investigating and learning the gospel for a long time now. They have been fighting like lions to prepare for that glorious day. There wasn't a doubt in my mind that they weren't going to make it. Seeing them make that covenant with their Heavenly Father brought peace to my soul. I want nothing more than to work even harder to do everything I can to help others do the same thing.     My friends and family, I want you to know that I have a sure testimony that God lives. I have seen His hand in...

Transfers!

Image
Transfers are tomorrow and I'm super pumped! Elder Jones and I will be staying here together for a third transfer and we're both super stoked for it!! There's so much work to be done. We're going to GO HARD this transfer and see miracles. We absolutely blew our monthly goals out of the water this month and there's still a week left! So we're going to set higher goals with faith and just The Lord do His thing, with hard work and trust on our part. Faith & Action. It works wonders.     I will be receiving another ZL comp! Elder Delgado! We're in the same Ward, just different areas. I'm SO EXCITED. He's a fireball missionary. We have a lot of great ideas and plans for the zone.     This week was awesome. We picked up some solid new investigators that are all super promising. One of them we met yesterday while walking out of a park. We had just finished talking to a drunk man sitting under a tree, and we were walking to our car (I love los hombres b...

California Crusin' - CSJM

I apologize for the blank email I sent earlier!      My beloved friends and family! How are you all! I hope everyone had a splendid week.      All is well here in San Jose, California! I'm loving it. The weather is perfect every single day. It's usually between 80-90 during the day and it gets really cool at night. When we wake up, it's all cold! It's perfect. I never want to leave!      The people here are really awesome, especially the people we serve! Hispanic people have my heart. I am constantly amazed by their humility and way of life. They are the kindest people I have ever come to know. It's a privilege to be with them and serve them. We still get pretty shocking looks from the old Hispanics when we talk to them on the street or when they answer the door and two white boys start speaking to them in Spanish haha it's the best.  We had a great week! Zone Training Meeting went really well! We learned a lot from each other about the ...

Miracles!

Image
My beloved family and friends! I'm so excited to tell you all about the miracles we had this week.     It started off pretty upsetting because disaster struck with Artemio. We went to see him Sunday night to see if he prayed about his baptismal date, and he didn't want it anymore. He told us he never prayed and that he didn't want to anymore. He didn't want to pray, read, go to church, or do anything. We were shocked. What possibly could have happened in a matter of a few hours! Satan is definitely not going to let him get baptized without a fight. The power of the adversary is very real. He went from wanting to be baptized more than anything to not wanting anything to do with the church. BUT, the miracle comes! Saturday night we opened our fast telling Heavenly Father that whoever comes to church tomorrow, is ready to be baptized. We were expecting quite a number of people, and Artemio was the last person on our mind to come. And he came!! When he walked in we had the...
