I LOVE Mexico City

It has been an incredible week!      I was asked to speak in sacrament last Sunday, my topic was The Fall. I was extremely nervous because giving talks in English is hard enough. But after the meeting my branch president told me that my Spanish is really good and that I surprised everybody. So that's good I guess. Most people I know here took some Spanish at some point in their life, so I'm kind of regretting taking German in high school. But all is well! The language is coming along quite nicely.      We had the privilege of hearing from Elder Don R. Clarke from the first quorum of the 70! He is a remarkable speaker! I took a ton of notes and learned a whole lot. He told us that "the day we care more about the people we serve and teach than ourselves, will be the day we become truly happy". Hence, charity is the pure love of Christ. He taught us three principles: Diligence is 10x better than intelligence, the process you learn of work will be a great benef...

I Love This Work

Buenos Dias everybody!!     I can't believe this is week 4 in the MTC. I love every second of it. I don't ever want to leave haha but I am extremely excited to get out into the field and become what The Lord needs me to be.      SO, having Elder Neil L. Anderson here and hearing him speak was absolutely phenomenal. As soon as he walked into the auditorium, a hush fell over the audience and we all stood to welcome him. He reminded us of our importance and how our mission call was chosen by The Lord. He told us this: "If you are humble and approach your mission as it is, you will be successful. It's inspiring. There will come a time on your mission when you will serve someone or teach somebody, and you will walk away with a feeling in your heart telling you, this is why I was ...

I Love This Place

¡Hola Everybody!!     This has been a great week. It rains almost everyday here, and when it does, it'll rain for hours. It puts me in such a good mood. I love rain. I love being at the MTC in Mexico so much. Everywhere I walk I hear people singing hymns or sometimes I hear somebody whistling the tune to "Called to Serve". I love the atmosphere here. The language is still my biggest trial right now but I have faith that it will come. We give lessons pretty much every day and sometimes twice a day. It's really awkward when we ask the investigator a question in Spanish and then when they answer, my companion and I just sit there and smile while nodding our heads because we have no idea what they said. I look forward to the day when I will be able to fully understand what they are saying.     Sundays are the best days here. It's a day to relax from all the work and studying and just ponder the words of life. It's such a relief. We are filled with the spirit all d...
