Hey everybody! Sorry I didn't get to send the weekly email yesterday, I was in Monterey for the day! It was INCREDIBLE. I will send pictures next week. It was an awesome week, a lot of great things happened. But I would like to share just one story, a miracle. An experience that increased my testimony of God's power. SO, Javier, our recent convert and my best friend, had been having a lot of trials and tribulations. He was kicked out of his apartment because the people that he was living with didn't want missionaries to keep coming over. Latinos rent out single rooms out of one trailer. So in trailer parks, to every trailer there are about 3 different families or individuals living there. They rent out different parts of the trailer. Anyways, he was kicked out and was forced to live in the migrant camps. After a short while of being there, he wanted to leave because of how bad of an environment there was. Hey everyone! I hope you all had an amazing week. Last week we had zone conference in MONTEREY!! It was so beautiful. Seeing the ocean again made me so happy!! It was a gorgeous sight. I love my mission so much. So a ton of things are changing in the mission. At zone conference we were taught to teach with the pamphlets and use the pictures, but only keep the lessons to under 10 minutes and then invite the investigator to read the pamphlet themselves and pray about it. We don't count contacts anymore or lessons with active members. President is trying to help us to solely focus on the people, not numbers. It has been amazing!! We are now only focusing on souls. He doesn't want us to be out contacting all day. We are to focus on getting more sit down lessons with non members, lessons with recent converts, and more lessons with returning members (less-actives). We are still a "just serve" mission, so we try to get at least 10 hours of service a week. For service, we usu...

On Saturday, Elder Quentin L. Cook from the quorum of the 12 apostles along with Bishop Causee from the presiding bishopric came to our mission and spoke to the missionaries! We got to meet him also! It was amazing. The third apostle I have had the privilege of seeing and hearing from in the mission so far! There is always something so different when apostles speak. You can definitely tell from being in their presence and the way they speak that they are true witnesses of the Savior himself. It was an incredible experience.  Gus and Mayra got MARRIED!! It was so beautiful. It was a small Latino wedding, but it was perfect. They are so happy together. Gus didn't get baptized on Sunday, we felt he wasn't prepared. So we pushed his date back to the 17th, this weekend! He has progressed so much. I have loved watching the gospel slowly change him. This week was incredible!! We picked up 4 new investigators. And they were all miracles. So, Jose Luis is the less-active man that called us a few weeks ago asking us to come over and talk to him. Since then he has come to church three weeks in a row and loves it. He has come back to the fold!! Last week my companion had to attend a few zone meetings with the other zone leader up in Gilroy. So Elder Fluckiger, the other zone leader's companion, came down to Hollister for the day to go on exchanges with me. He has only been in the field for 3 weeks and is an English speaking missionary, so I was kinda freaking out haha but all is well! It was a magnificent day. We went and visited Jose Luis. Shortly after arriving, a man walked up to the door. Jose told us that he invited a friend and asked if it was okay for him to join us, I was like, well yes!! Let's teach him.
