Work Work Work

Wow we had an awesome week!!!      First of all, Gerardo's baptism on Thursday was amazing! It was such a wonderful service and the spirit was present. We are so excited to see their family continue progressing in the gospel.      We were at the airport again on Wednesday to pick up the two new Vietnamese Elders! They were so excited to be here. They are full of energy and fire. They will be a great addition to the Vietnamese branch.      We are teaching a lot of wonderful people in both areas. There's so much work that we literally run to and from the car to each appointment. It's such a blast.      On Wednesday we went really south into our area to visit Gordy, he lives way out in the booneys!! It's literally miles and miles of rolling green hills and tall trees, it's beautiful. We were there to help him split wood. We are trying to build a stronger relationship with him to get him to church. We want him to be baptized so bad...

Sacrifice Brings Forth The Blessings Of Heaven!

This was by far the most insane week of my mission!!     Transfers were on Tuesday! I said bye to my companion Elder Cusworth and got a new companion. Elder Brockbank is AMAZING. We've already had so much fun together. Transfers were hectic. We don't have transfer meetings anymore so everybody just meets at the mission office, they find their new companion, and then they're off! It's awesome. We loaded up the transfer van with all the outgoing missionaries and headed off to the temple. I love the temple so much, especially the Oakland temple. It's beyond beautiful!     We dropped off the outgoing missionaries at the airport the next morning and then welcomed the new missionaries a couple hours later. They are SOLID. Oh my goodness they're so awesome. They are all so prepared and excited to be here. Like always, we took them contacting in downtown San Jose and they loved it! We saw so many miracles. One hispanic lady in particular stopped us on the street and ask...

"To exercise faith is to trust that the Lord knows what He is doing with you and that He can accomplish it for your eternal good even though you cannot understand how He can possibly do it. We are like infants in our understanding of eternal matters and their impact on us here in mortality. Yet at times we act as if we knew it all. When you pass through trials for His purposes, as you trust Him, exercise faith in Him, He will help you. That support will generally come step by step, a portion at a time. While you are passing through each phase, the pain and difficulty that comes from being enlarged will continue. If all matters were immediately resolved at your first petition, you could not grow. Your Father in Heaven and His Beloved Son love you perfectly. They would not require you to experience a moment more of difficulty than is absolutely needed for your personal benefit or for that of those you love" - Elder Richard G. Scott     Elder Michael J. WHAT A WEEK

Hey everybody!!     I don't have a whole lot of time, transfers are tomorrow and Elder Cusworth is leaving so we're super busy today. I'm going to miss him so much! He is my brother. We've worked so hard and have seen countless miracles together.      My new companion is ELDER BROCKBANK. HE IS A STUD. We already know each other really well because we're "brothers" in the mission. We had the same trainer. Anyways, we will be covering both the Almaden Ward AND the Yerba Buena Ward from the neighboring zone, which is a spanish ward so I'M PUMPED. We're going to have so much work but we're so ready!! The Lord will provide.      We had same amazing things happen this past week. One of our amazing youth texted us notifying us that she has a friend that is super interested in the church, so we taught her Friday and it was AWESOME. She's so prepared. We want to meet her parents though so that we can teach their whole family.     So many great th...

Hey Mom And Dad

Just wanted to say that I love you both and that I am beyond grateful for both of you and your service in my life, for the family the family, for the the church and for the world!     I just want you both to know how happy I am. The cause of my happiness is due to one reason: I am doing the work of the master. If you EVER find me not doing the Lord's work at any point in time in my life, I want you both to chastise me!! For there is nothing greater than this work. I constantly feel the spirit of this work burn like a fire within me. I constantly feel the presence of the Almighty in my life and He teaches me sacred and important things. I am constantly repenting and finding ways that I can be better so that I can be humbled enough to be molded into the person my Father in heaven wants me to be.      We have a baptism here in a couple weeks and many more to come! I've been talking to the Zone Leaders who are serving in my last area and a couple that Elder Van and ...

This week was crazy!! So many great things happened.      First off, the temple!! I was blessed to be able to attend the temple on Saturday to see a convert receive her endowment! My goodness if I could even begin to describe the joy that I felt from seeing that... So in my second transfer in the mission, we had a baptismal service in which three souls entered into the waters of baptism. One of them was Maggie! Much of the work put into these people was done before I arrived, I was just blessed enough to be apart of it. Maggie's son is Brian and his Father is Florentino. They are by far my favorite family!!! I've seen them progress exponentially in the gospel. Brian is the one that got ordained last week, so all kinds of wonderful things are happening with this family. Anyways, when I went on exchanges down to Hollister a couple weeks ago, Maggie told me that she was going to the temple! I was so excited!! The Sisters at the time mainly taught her but all the missionaries...

Hi There!

I might be going to the temple this weekend to see a convert from my first couple transfers receive her endowment! I'll show you. She's the one in white standing in front of me. And Brian, the boy around my arm, was baptized a few weeks before her, and he turned 12 so he just got the Aaronic priesthood as well!! They are my favorite family.     Michael Felt     That would be incredible! I had a couple attend the temple that my trainer and taught and were baptized. They attended when I had been out a year but there was only one temple then in Sydney. Still it was quite amazing. He was on the High Council last I heard and she was RS President. Pam and Daryl. They came to baby blessings and baptisms of our family. You might not remember them though? Such joy from 1st areas huh?     Katherine Silver Felt

Hello my beloved friends and family! I hope you are all doing well and that you know I love you all dearly.      This week was fabulous!! Justin was ordained yesterday, and his Dad ordained him! They are both converts so that was such a cool thing to see. The spirit was SO strong during the blessing. Justin now wants to baptize his friend, Leila! Hopefully she comes to church next week. We love Justin so much and seeing the progress he is making makes Elder Cusworth and I so happy. He's a STUD.     Unfortunately the Sanchez family didn't make it to church... Again... We were so bummed!! We visited them the day before and they were all so excited to come! We have no idea what happened. We found out that the father wasn't baptized, so now we get to baptize the entire family together! That's our vision and our goal.     We also got to visit Wyatt! He's such an awesome kid. We're seeing him again this weekend and then we're going to have someone pick him u...
