Work Work Work
Wow we had an awesome week!!!
First of all, Gerardo's baptism on Thursday was amazing! It was such a wonderful service and the spirit was present. We are so excited to see their family continue progressing in the gospel.
We were at the airport again on Wednesday to pick up the two new Vietnamese Elders! They were so excited to be here. They are full of energy and fire. They will be a great addition to the Vietnamese branch.
We are teaching a lot of wonderful people in both areas. There's so much work that we literally run to and from the car to each appointment. It's such a blast.
On Wednesday we went really south into our area to visit Gordy, he lives way out in the booneys!! It's literally miles and miles of rolling green hills and tall trees, it's beautiful. We were there to help him split wood. We are trying to build a stronger relationship with him to get him to church. We want him to be baptized so bad so that he and Avi can get sealed in the temple! It paid off because he was at church on Sunday! It was awesome.
Because we are covering two wards, we have two dinner calendars haha so every now and then we will have back to back dinners. We had a double dinner last night and I literally thought I was going to explode. It's okay though! We do it for the members :)
There's just so much going on! I would love to go into detail but time is always short.
There are times during the day when we're out working where I feel like I could fall asleep standing up, but someway, somehow, I receive strength to keep going. I know it is the Lord. He strengthens us and qualifies us to accomplish His purpose. It's an incredible feeling. I love Paul's teachings in 2 Corinthians 12:
9. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
I love being out here for Christ's sake. I always knew I was going to serve a mission, I had decided that at a young age. It was just a matter of when I was going to serve. It's definitely not a simple task to leave your loved ones but although my family was dear to me, I felt that the cause of truth, the gospel of Christ, outweighed everything else. I have a testimony of this Church and of the restored gospel. It means everything to me. I wish for everyone to come and see, to partake of the immense blessings of joy. Jesus Christ "is the light, the life, and the hope of the world. His way is the path that leads to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come" - The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles.
I love you all. Have a superb week!
