I Love This Work
Buenos Dias everybody!!
I can't believe this is week 4 in the MTC. I love every second of it. I don't ever want to leave haha but I am extremely excited to get out into the field and become what The Lord needs me to be.
SO, having Elder Neil L. Anderson here and hearing him speak was absolutely phenomenal. As soon as he walked into the auditorium, a hush fell over the audience and we all stood to welcome him. The room was overflowing with the spirit, it was truly wonderful. Before he spoke, we got to shake his hand. Oh my goodness, coolest experience. His words were very comforting and uplifting. He reminded us of our importance and how our mission call was chosen by The Lord. He told us this: "If you are humble and approach your mission as it is, you will be successful. It's inspiring. There will come a time on your mission when you will serve someone or teach somebody, and you will walk away with a feeling in your heart telling you, this is why I was sent here".
On Sunday, we listened to a devotional talk from Elder Holland. Man, I love him. He is a legend. He told us that we must convert ourselves before we convert our investigators, otherwise we cannot do this work. He told us to always be missionaries, even for the rest of our lives. We were reminded that we are on The Lord's errand, and to always forget yourself and your own concerns or worries. We MUST always reach others first. Lose yourself and you will simply find yourself.
Funny moment of the week. Mi companero and I were acting as members for our fellow missionaries during a lesson. We were teaching an investigator that we have been seeing for a week now. We know that his wife passed away and that he is having a lot of trouble moving on and he's worried about where she is. (keep in mind that these are fake investigators that come up with certain situations to prepare us for real life situations) anyways, it was a perfect time to teach him El plan Del Salvación. So we get in there, and Elder Wilson, one of the missionaries teaching the lesson, says, "¿comó es su eposa?" which means how is your spouse, or wife. I started laughing so hard... He had forgotten that the investigator's wife had passed away. He responded and said. "Mi eposa es muerte" (my wife is dead) I just couldn't keep it together. Mi companero and I tried our hardest not to laugh during the entire lesson but it was impossible. Thank goodness it was just practice and not real life.
I have the best roommates in the world, we all get along really well. Every night we share our experiences and testimonies. We make a really good basketball team as well.
I love this gospel so much. I have a burning desire to share this beautiful message. I love The Lord, He is my salvador and redentor. I yearn to serve His children.
I will leave y'all with this: Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it is thinking of yourself less.
I love you all so very much.
Elder Felt
