Un Guanaco Y Un Aussie

Hey everybody!

I LOVE my new companion! His name is Elder Fajardo! He's from El Salvador! He moved to Virginia about three years ago where he was baptized!!! He's only been a member for a little over two years. He's absolutely phenomenal. We're already having a blast together. Its

awesome because he's still learning English and my Spanish can always use improvement so we help each other out a lot. We've had an awesome first week together! We're teaching a lot of

awesome people. Valerie has come to church with her mom two weeks in a row now so she should be baptized in the coming weeks! I feel like I'm not even training Elder Fajardo because he's such a stud! He came out pre-trained. Everybody loves him! He's a fireball.

I've already learned so much from him.

We were weekly planning on Saturday when President Mella called wanting to speak to Elder Fajardo. He was informed that one of the sister missionaries that found him on the street and started teaching him was killed in a car accident. The news was devastating to him. I

felt terrible because it was only his third day in the mission. But he's so strong and understands his purpose! I asked if there's anything I could do and all he said was, "just help me stay focused in the work". I love him so much. We're going to see so many miracles together.

The gospel is true! I love it so much. I have realized throughout my mission that this is the only time I will be able to fully live the law of consecration. This time will eventually end, so as

missionaries, we get to take advantage of living this law to the fullest and watch our lives change as we dedicate everything to the Lord. I have realized that by doing so, I am full of joy. A man is that he might have joy. And the joy that I have experienced in the mission field has been superior to any I have ever felt elsewhere.

I love you all! Have a fantastic week. Happy 4th of July!
