Hey Everybody!

We had a great first week to start off the transfer! 

 

 

Elder Fajardo and Elder Cabral are learning rapidly and I am learning so much from them! They keep me on my toes. Our teaching skills as a companionship are increasing daily. We are having incredible experiences in some of the lessons we are teaching. One of them was with a young man, Jose Flores. Finding him was nothing short of a miracle. He has had a pretty serious drug addiction for the past 5 years, and the day he decides to stop, we meet him. We're excited to continue to meet with him.

 

 

We have a baptismal date for September 7th! Luz Lima! She's the one that is married to the less-active (returning member). We have had enormous amounts of progress with her and she is so ready!! We took a member that was just perfect for her to one of our lessons and it was incredible. We taught some of the different commandments and ended by trying to set a date for her (for the 3rd time). We told her that we had been praying and we felt like she would be ready by September 10th. She smiled and shook her head saying, "no, not this day". We were so bummed!! But after a few seconds of silence she said, "I don't mean to disappoint you but I feel like September 7th is my day". Of course we didn't argue with that!! We were so happy! She said she was reading in the Book of Mormon with her daughter and just felt this urge that she needed to be baptized. She picked September 7th because that's when her 11 month old baby boy was born. We are going to the temple with their family this Thursday to go through the visitors center, we're so excited!! I love their family so much. I'll attach a picture of her kids. She has two daughters ages 7 and 5, and then the gordito is 11 months. 

 

 

More and more miracles are happening each day and we are finding more and more people to teach. If only you could all know about them! But there is simply not enough time. 

 

 

I know with all my heart that the Book of Mormon is true! I have seen many people on my mission receive revelation and come to a knowledge of this work by reading the Book of Mormon. It is the pure evidence that God the father and His son, Jesus Christ, descended from the heavens to usher in the last dispensation and appear to the boy Joseph. It is truly a marvelous work and a wonder. Anyone who reads it and earnestly prays about it will receive an answer and by so doing, draw closer to the savior. I know it.
