Nowhere Else I'd Rather Be
Hey everyone!!
We had another successful week. We found a lot of really promising new investigators!! Elder Fajardo is getting in the hang of talking to everybody we see in the streets and he's doing a phenomenal job. Sometimes I feel like I'm not even training a new missionary because he's so on top of everything. I am so blessed to be with him! I am learning so much every single day.
We are so blessed with the members in our ward! This week multiple members came with us to help teach including the primary president, relief society president, a bishopric member, the gospel doctrine teacher, and bishop! They are absolutely incredible. We're so blessed to be in this ward.
Last Monday evening we found a beautiful family! The Gomez Family! We taught them the restoration and left them an invitation to read the Book of Mormon. When we came back Saturday night with our ward mission leader, we followed up and the mother said she had read! They asked more questions about how the Book of Mormon came about and wanted a more in depth explanation of the apostasy so we went back and taught it with an emphasis on why God has always chosen prophets and the necessity for their guidance and God's power here on the earth.
"And who shall say that Jesus Christ did not do many mighty miracles? And there were many mighty miracles wrought by the hands of the apostles.
And if there were miracles wrought then, why has God ceased to be a God of miracles and yet be an unchangeable Being? And behold, I say unto you he changeth not; if so he would cease to be God; and he ceaseth not to be God, and is a God of miracles" (Mormon 9).
I feel the spirit burn within me and the influence of the Almighty whenever we teach and testify of the restoration. There's nowhere else I'd rather be and nothing else I'd rather be doing.
Nestor, who was baptized a little over a month ago, received the Aaronic Priesthood yesterday in church!! It was a special day for his family. His wife Paulina, who is a returning member, was full of joy. She's been waiting for the priesthood to be in her home for too long! Gospel Principles class yesterday was probably the best one I've been in! Our investigator, Danilo, AND Nestor, both bore powerful testimonies. They expressed their feelings about their gratitude for the church and how it's changed their life. They shared how great they feel when they're at church with their families and how peaceful they feel when they're there. My smile went from ear to ear after hearing them. I wanted to cry with joy! I looked at the ground and thought to myself, "this is why I'm here".
My love for these people and my mission increases every single day. I constantly feel that my mind is engaged in glorious work. I know with conviction that it is indeed God's work, and that it can never be frustrated. We must trust in His promises because he can and will fulfill them. He sent His son to the earth because we could not return to His presence alone. We needed "an advocate, an intercessor, a mediator to assist us". - Elder Gene R. Cook.
I love my savior so much. He is my example, my friend, my comforter, my strength, my redeemer, and I am His servant.
I love you all! Have a glorious week!
