Trainer Assignment

Dear Elder Felt:

 

 

This letter will confirm your assignment as a trainer of a new missionary.  This assignment is a sacred trust. A missionary’s first companion will have a profound lasting influence on the development of the missionary.  You must commit yourself to the highest example of obedience and effective proselytizing and do everything in your power to help Elder Fajardo begin his mission positively. 

 

 

We urge you to approach this assignment prayerfully. You will influence your new missionary by the example you set.

 

 

We expect you to follow the daily schedule diligently as outlined in Preach My Gospel, p. viii.  It is essential to conduct effective companionship study daily and help your companion develop the basic missionary skills discussed in Preach My Gospel.   Hold daily and weekly planning sessions to help your companion learn how to plan with a focus on helping investigators progress toward conversion.  (See Preach My Gospel pages 147 through 150).  Read daily in the Missionary Handbook with your new missionary and obey all mission rules.  Involve your new missionary in the finding and teaching of investigators.  Seek to build the faith of your new missionary in all that you do.
