Restoration Of All Things!

Hey everybody! We are emailing today because yesterday was crazy busy! We went to Santa Cruz, it was a blast!

 

 

Jonathan and Celeste were baptized on Sunday! It was a beautiful service. I was blessed to be able to confirm Jonathan. It was a very neat, humbling, and spiritual experience. The Lord has a lot in store for both of these young people. I love them dearly. Jonathan's parents (non members) really seemed to enjoy the service. I know it impacted them in a good way. 

 

 

We had a marvelous week!! Any week where you're planning for a baptism I guess is a pretty good week. We're working hard together and enjoying each other's company. Elder Figueroa is a fantastic missionary. I love serving with him. He's definitely getting more and more tired as the days go on because he only has a few weeks left but he's not letting that slow him down! We want two more baptisms together before he leaves.

 

 

The Zone is working miracles!! Together we continue to double and triple our year to date averages. Everybody is finding, teaching, and baptizing!! We are having a blast. 

 

 

We are having a large focus in the mission at the moment on talking and testifying of the Restoration with everybody we see. Instead of finding "common ground", we go straight to the message of the restoration. It is so powerful!! We love people's reaction when we tell them that the heavens have parted and that God has again chosen a prophet in these last days to lead and guide us. Because of this, here are some Latter-day truths that President Mella showed at MLC that we are are blessed to know:

 

 

- We once again understand the true nature and identity of God

- The heavens are open and God once again speaks to men on the earth.

- It was not a Reformation, but a Restoration. Mankind alone didn't have the power or ability to bring back the full gospel with all its blessings. It required direct intervention from God.

- We have wonderful additions to the scriptures which add light and chase away darkness. The Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price help answer many of life's key questions and fill in missing pieces.

- We understand the Plan of Salvation, including the purpose of mortality and the promise of eternity. (Where did we come from? Why are we here? And where are we going after this life?)

- We have been given Priesthood authority and keys. Man cannot take this honor unto himself.

- The saving ordinances, especially those of the Temple, are again on the Earth, giving us power to bind on earth what will be bound in Heaven.

- We again have the organization of God's church and kingdom on the earth. (Ephesians 4:11-14).  

 

 

How blessed we are to have this knowledge and therefore receive the blessings.
