Cool Experience
I was asked to give a baby blessing and a name last minute on Sunday in sacrament meeting. She's not a baby anymore, she's 7. She is Nestor's daughter. But because her mother was less active for so long, she never received a baby blessing and to be named in the church. Anyways, we had talked about having the blessing that morning in Ward council but I guess the bishop forgot to ask someone to do it. Minutes before the blessing, I felt prompted to look at a card that I keep in my wallet with all of the correct wording for priesthood blessings (thanks dad). Bishop then calls priesthood holders including us up to the front to participate in the blessing. When we got up there, the bishop told me that I was giving it. I was a bit thrown off because I just assumed missionaries don't give baby blessings and names. I quickly began translating in my head what I had read on the card into Spanish and the blessing worked out beautifully. I absolutely love how the spirit works. I wouldn't have been able to do any of it without the spirit. The Lord has a lot in store for this precious daughter. It was strange because I wasn't ever planning on giving a child a blessing and a name until I'm a father haha.
