Pure Joy
My friends and family!! I hope you are all doing well.
Conference was a huge treat. I loved every minute of it! I know in my heart that those men are called of God. They communicate with Him so that we may know His will.
A lot happened this week! But I’ll just skip to the good part...
The wedding and the baptism! My words will not give these two experiences any justice. "I cannot say the smallest part which I feel". It is weekends like these that make it all worth it. Just a little over three weeks ago, we began teaching Jose, Angelica, and Max. They listened intently and soaked up what the Spirit taught them.
During the wedding and the baptismal service, they all had the biggest smiles on their faces! I love what the gospel does to people. It was definitely a mission highlight for Elder Brockbank and myself. We will never forget this day!! We look forward to returning in a year's time to see them be sealed together for time and eternity in the temple.
I am speechless! I am full of joy. I am lost for words but I figured that these words from the 26th chapter of Alma would suffice.
12 Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever.
14 Yea, we have reason to praise him forever, for he is the Most High God, and has loosed our brethren from the chains of hell.
15 Yea, they were encircled about with everlasting darkness and destruction; but behold, he has brought them into his everlasting light, yea, into everlasting salvation; and they are encircled about with the matchless bounty of his love; yea, and we have been instruments in his hands of doing this great and marvelous work.
16 Therefore, let us glory, yea, we will glory in the Lord; yea, we will rejoice, for our joy is full; yea, we will praise our God forever. Behold, who can glory too much in the Lord? Yea, who can say too much of his great power, and of his mercy, and of his longsuffering towards the children of men? Behold, I say unto you, I cannot say the smallest part which I feel.
Transfers are tomorrow! I will be staying here with my brother, Elder Brockbank. We're so excited to continue our work together here in the Lord's vineyard. We have work to do!
I have four transfers left in the field. I cannot believe it. It's time to go work harder than ever before!! I love this work beyond comprehension. I love my savior and brother, Jesus Christ. He is the chief cornerstone of this church and He leads this great work in which we are anxiously engaged.
Shall we not go on in such a great cause?
