"Do Not Set Goals That Do Not Have The Power To Stir Men's Souls"
My wonderful family and friends! I love you all so much. I hope you are all doing fabulous.
Elder Brockbank and I had a wonderful week! We continue to see miracles! We are being blessed significantly. We both love this work and we love having fun while doing it!
We are teaching some wonderful people. Two significant people that we are teaching in Almaden are Jimmy and Larry. I'm not sure if you guys remember Justin, but he was the re-activated young man that received the priesthood a few months ago. Jimmy is his uncle! He's not a member. For the longest time, whenever we would invite him to join in on the lesson, he would kindly reject the invitation and say that church stuff just isn't for him. The Spirit has worked with him little by little and we are now teaching him. He lost his faith a long time ago when his father passed away and said he that he turned away from God has hasn't come back since. He now wants to regain his faith and come to know God. He has been asking the most amazing questions!! We love the lessons. At the end of our last lesson, he asked that we share our own personal conversion stories and testimonies for the next lesson! So we're really excited to do so this week.
Larry is a 24 year old guy that we've been teaching for a while that could never come to church because of his job. He works every Sunday all day!! Well, he quit the job!! Now he can come to church and prepare to be baptized. He wanted to celebrate him not working at safeway so on Saturday we met up for root beer floats haha he's such a funny guy.
We found a new family to teach in the Yerba Buena Ward!! We love teaching families, there's nothing better! They are a family of five. They are very kind and humble and we look forward to seeing them again this week.
Jose Soto, our convert in the Yerba Buena ward, will be getting the priesthood this week so we're so excited for that! Their family is progressing really well. We are now teaching Angelica's daughter!
The mission is doing incredible!! We had MLC last week and we counseled together to talk about goals for the mission. Instead of standards of excellence for the mission, we decided that each zone would set their own standards of excellence. Since then, lessons taught, new investigators and investigators at sacrament has increased exponentially. We are psyched!!
The work is hastening. I love being apart of it so much. The work goes on with or without us. When we don't join in this great cause and lend a hand, it is us who misses out. Great miracles and blessing await for those who stand firm in the faith of Christ and seek to build the kingdom.
Shall we not go on in so great a cause?
