California... Such A Lovely Place
My friends and family!!
Elder Cusworth and I are emailing today due to the mission tour that we have had this week. Elder Joseph Sitati of the seventy was here for stake conference and also to tour the mission. We received some exceptional counsel from him. I learned so much!! He is a very humble man that is so gifted in speaking from the spirit. He gave us very direct and bold instruction. What he taught us and what I learned from him through the Holy Ghost will change the course of my mission.
I am so grateful for the brethren of the church that lead, guide, and direct us in these Latter-Days. I know with a surety of my heart that they are called God.
We had an awesome week! We were very busy! I love being busy and working hard. Every single day, wherever we go, or whatever we are doing, I feel that my companion and I are anxiously engaged in the work of the savior; the greatest and most important work that we will ever be a part of throughout our entire lives. It is an honor and privilege to do what we do, to represent the Lord. I never want this time to end!
So we are having a lot of good things happen in our area. A less-active that we've been teaching for a while is Justin Dalin! He's 17. He's such a stud, we love him! He's only been to church a few times in the past few months. But due to the work of missionaries from the past up until now, he wants to be ordained to the priesthood! He was baptized when he was a kid, but never got ordained. So we're SO excited for him. He's come such a long way. Our goal is to keep building him up and strengthening him so that one day he will serve a mission!
Unfortunately we had to drop one of our investigators, Justin Sun. He's a great kid and we love him so much! But he wasn't willing to take a step of faith and truly find out for himself if God is real. So we pray that some time down the road he will come to the knowledge of the reality of the almighty. It's not always easy dropping people but we have full faith that the Lord will put in our path those whom He has prepared.
We've been trying really hard to meet with the family referrals that we have received. We contacted Lisa Sanchez and her family! Her and her three kids are non-members. She wants her kids to go to church so that they can get baptized, it's just been really hard to meet with them. So we will try our best this week to get in with them.
We've been doing a lot of less-active work to try and find some more people to teach! We've seen some great success come from it. We have had a couple people come back to church from it! Linda Griffin and Justin. Reactivation is such a wonderful thing. They are reminded of why they were baptized and the spirit of the Lord fills them with His love. And then they want us to teach their friends! I love it. Something Linda said really hit me, "I felt like I was home again when I went to church. I felt so good and warm inside. I've missed it a lot". She was baptized about 4 years ago but hadn't been coming to church for a couple of years.
I am the happiest I have ever been!!! I love this work. I know it is true. Jesus Christ himself leads this Church and this work. I truly know that. I am beyond grateful for the experiences and opportunities that I am having. I realize every day that the things I learn here and the work that I do will last a lifetime, not just these two years. The gospel in its fullness has been restored!!!
Sometimes we don't grasp how incredibly miraculous that is. We have to always be looking and praying for opportunities to spread this glorious news with the world. These are the last days, we are living in the dispensation of the fulness of times!! We have to build the Lord's Kingdom here and prepare the people for when He returns to the earth.
I love you all so much!! I hope you are all doing well and have joy and peace in your lives.
Keep on keepin on.
