AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE
Hey friends and family! I hope all is well.
To explain the title of the email, Australia made it to the Rugby World Cup Final!!! They will be playing the New Zealand All Blacks... Dad, please record it! I'll watch it when I get home :)
We had a really awesome week! Our investigator, Fatima, came to church and she brought a friend! They are both from Iran. They're super sweet. The past couple of weeks, we have been building a storage unit for Fatima. It took a lot of our time, but we kept telling ourselves that if we kept helping her that she would get baptized haha. So hopefully we can continue visiting her and teaching her. She's read the entire Book of Mormon in Persian before!
Thursday we had the opportunity to drive down to Monterey and join some elders for breakfast and studies. We studied out of Ch. 9 of Preach My Gospel and we found stories and examples in the Book of Mormon of how missionaries utilized and understood the power and authority of their calling and brought others to Christ. We stressed the importance of talking to EVERYBODY. It is so important to be bold and courageous by talking to our brothers and sisters who are searching for the truth but "know not where to find it".
On Friday we had a specialized training for all the District Leaders in the mission. We discussed continual repentance, the importance of the scriptures in our studies and teaching, and Elder Cusworth and I gave a training on teaching people. not lessons. It all went really well! I love all the District Leaders, they're so solid. They asked a lot of questions about how they can be better leaders for their missionaries and how to lead and inspire them.
A new family from Mexico just moved into the ward and they are AWESOME!! They were just called to be ward missionaries so we're super excited to work with them. And it was SOO nice to use my spanish again. I miss the Spanish Program so much!!! But I am happy where I am. The Almaden ward is incredible.
On Saturday we went down to a baptism in Watsonville with President. It was a remarkable service. Being able to see baptisms every week is such a blessing. There is no greater feeling than seeing people enter into the baptismal font to make a covenant with their Father in Heaven. They leave their past life and come unto the Lord with complete humility to follow Him.
I love this work! I love my Savior. The gospel is true, and I love it.
Have a fantastic week.
Elder Felt
