11 Months - The Work Continues

¡Hola a todos que tal!

I hope everyone had a great week!

Everything is going well here. The work is rolling forth and we are busy busy busy. Time is sure flying by, it's freaking me out. Time is slipping through my hands and all it does is push me to go harder. My desire to work and assist in bringing souls into Christ is my purpose. I love every second of it. I love seeing the change in people, I love testifying of the truthfulness of the gospel multiple times a day, I love testifying of the reality of Jesus Christ and His Father, I just love it all!

This week was grand! Something marvelous to see was a baptismal service we had in our Ward for a man named Victor! It was marvelous for elder Jones and I because Artemio shared his testimony during the service. He was still very pumped up and the sprint burned inside him due to his own baptism one week prior. I love the power that recent converts have. He even started to read the Doctrine and Covenants! It's already in section 30. He had his interview for the aaronic priesthood yesterday and also for a limited temple recommend so that He can go on October 10 to do baptisms. We're so excited for him!! We worked hard this week and got a lot done. We're teaching a lot of wonderful people. Blanca is our most progressing. She came to church yesterday and absolutely loved it! The members fellowshipped her like crazy! It was awesome. She started reading the Book of Mormon a couple weeks ago and is already past 1st and 2nd Nephi. She's just great. Hopefully we can set a date with her this week.

We're teaching a less-active man right now that has stage four cancer. His chances are slim. We visit him about 3 times a week because he wants to know everything that he's forgotten or missed out on. It's wonderful to see him glow once all the knowledge and truth comes back to his remembrance.

The topic for MLC last Friday was obedience and obeying by acting in faith. It was life-changing and inspiring. Obedience is the first law of heaven, it is such a vital aspect in the gospel. It is something that must be understood in order to progress in this life and to have the fullest of blessings after this life. We have to obey willingly and faithfully in all things, even when we don't understand why. God knows. He sees the bigger picture. There is a reason for every little commandment, principle, and law. We just have to trust him. When we align our will with God's, and then trust him, He will make us the men and the woman He wants us to become. When our purpose is aligned with His, (that is, to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man) nothing we do in this work should be about ourselves anymore. When we hand ourselves over to the Lord in humility and meekness, obeying every commandment with exactness, we become truly free. The result is eternal joy.

Have a great week my beloved family and friends. Keep on keepin on. I love you all.
