Hey Everyone!
We had an incredible week!! We taught TONS of people and had a lot of success. We had a miracle with one of our "eternigators" (someone who has been an investigator forever but never got baptized). He's in a wheelchair because he got his leg amputated a while ago. We didn't like visiting him at first because it was a waste of time. He would tell us to leave and never come back. It was heart-breaking because he knows it's all true. When he first met the missionaries over a year ago, he read the Book of Mormon in one month and 15 days. He said it changed his whole life. But for some reason, he didn't want anything to do with us or the church. On Saturday, we felt promoted to visit him. We both felt weird about it because he wasn't going anywhere. We went anyway and when we knocked on his door, he WALKED out. We've never seen him stand up or walk. He looked completely different. He had a different vibe about him, he was smiling and just looked happy in general. We were like, "ARTEMIO! QUE PASO!". He said he had gotten a new prosthetic leg and he didn't have any more pain. He told us that he realized the Lord had blessed him even after he had been bitter and ignorant towards us coming to visit him over the duration of a few months. He said that it was time. He wants to start reading the Book of Mormon again and change his ways. He already came to a baptism that we had in our Ward on Saturday! We just need to get him to church so that we can set a date.
I really love my companion, Elder Jones. He's probably the easiest companion I've had! Meaning there's never ANY problems between us. We're always on the same page. He's very submissive to the work and wants to be 100% involved. He's very focused and has a spirit of optimism about him. It's a joy to serve alongside him. We strive to be exactly obedient and we correct ourselves when we're not. He's always helping me to improve regularly.
We've been starting to get the work going more in the YSA Ward. There's a lot of potential there. We're working with the members, a lot of them said that they'll find us somebody to teach.
The zone showed improvement this week after the ZTM that we had. We tried our very best to relay President's message across from MLC. We led and taught discussions about following the spirit in planning, teaching, finding, and inviting. The spirit is the fundamental principle in everything missionaries do, for this is the Lord's work, not ours. We're just privileged enough to be a part of it. It has NOTHING to do with us.
Elder Lundrigan, the other ZL, is absolutely phenomenal. He's been in his last couple weeks and I've never seen a missionary work as hard as he's working now. He's more consecrated and diligent than ever. He's setting the example for the zone. I want to follow his example and do
exactly that at the end of my mission. Why wouldn't everyone do that?? We only have 24 months out of our ENTIRE life to do this. Why not give everything until the very last day? I'm not sure that I would be able to live with myself if I didn't. "For if you had anything left, you didn't do it right". It has been a blessing to be ZL comps with elder Lundrigan. He has shown me the ropes on how to be a leader and how to get things done.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is true brothers and sisters. I know it. Please do everything you can to search and find the truths and then receive the blessings that are waiting. We are in fact living in the last days. Jesus Christ IS coming to the earth, and we are his last labores in his vineyard. We are the last leg. We must do everything we can to spread the truth. It will all be worth it.
I love serving here! El Camino is ZION. We are so blessed. I love serving the people and I love being able to serve and help the zone.
I love you all so much!
Elder Felt
