My Favorite People!!

I love you all so much. I want to thank all of you, individually, for the impact each of you have had in my life. Thank you for being you!!

It has been a marvelous week!! Elder Van and I have had a lot of success together. We have a whole new teaching pool!!! We're so busy that we have to prioritize throughout the day because we don't have enough time to visit everyone that we want. It's a blessing to be busy with the mission!!

So we are finally getting ipads this week!! I'm excited to utilize another tool to help build the Kingdom.

Yesterday was tough because we were expecting 4 investigators at church but none of them showed up... It's really frustrating!!! IT KILLS ME. We invited two of our investigators, Uriel and Jose, to be baptized, and they both agreed!! We just can't set a date until they come to church.

I had the privilege of conducting two baptismal interviews the past few weeks. One of them is a girl from Vietnam, her name is Liz Bui. She spoke broken English but her testimony of the restored gospel was powerful. The spirit in the room was so strong. She said she ate up every lesson like she was starving and accepted everything that was taught to her. I love seeing the change in people more than anything. When they accept Christ into their lives, their eyes are opened to enormous possibilities and they realize how perfect His gospel is and the blessings that come from it.

The other was a man named Marco. He was a Spanish speaker. He was actually the investigator of my MTC comp! How cool is that? Anyways, he was one of those miracle investigators where he knows and believes everything right off the bat and was baptized in 2 1/2 weeks. I asked him why he wanted to get baptized and his answer was simple: "I know it's what God wants me to do, and it's what I need".

We are teaching a lot of people at the moment but still on the search to find those who are ready now. On Friday evening, we were eager to find a new investigator. So we visited about 8 potentials and nothing came of it. It was almost 9 and I started to get a little discouraged because our goal was to find someone new and despite how hard we worked, we had nothing to show for it. On the way home, some guy we had met on the street working on his car 2 weeks ago called us and asked if we could meet Monday night. MIRACLE OR WHAT.

On Saturday evening, Elder Van and I said to each other that we weren't going home until we had found 2 new investigators. All of a sudden it was 8:30 and we still hadn't found anyone. We had 30 minutes left. We prayed to ask Heavenly Father where He would have us go to find someone. We were prompted to return to some apartment complexes next to a park where we had previously contacted earlier that day. We got out of the car and ran until we found someone. In 30 minutes, we found a family of 6, 2 teenagers, and a middle aged man and his girlfriend. GOD IS REAL. We were so blessed. We will be meeting with some of those people this week.

I can feel the spirit of this work like a fire burning in me, The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God unto salvation. The fullness of this Gospel, God's church, was restored through the Prophet Joseph and it's rolling forth across the earth. How blessed we are to be a part of this great cause.
