Transfer Week!!
I finished my training last week! I am officially not a "greenie" anymore. But I feel as though I will always be one. So transfers are this week, and I am staying in HOLLISTER! I'm so happy. I love Hollister and there is so much work to do, I'm not ready to leave! I got a call from the assistants on Thursday night, and I have been called to be the district leader down here in Hollister. I was super surprised because I just finished my training. I'm freaking out a little bit. But, I have the Lord on my side!
It's been a crazy week. We have an elder from the English program staying and working with us because his companion went home for knee surgery, so we've been in a trio together covering both areas! It's been so much fun!! We have had a lot of fun and success together.
Javier's prayers were answered!! He found a new job and a new cheap place to stay. We are so happy for him. We had 3 investigators at church which is AMAZING!! They're all solid investigators, we have a lot of hope for them.
So we found out that our miracle investigator, Jose Munoz, was in Mexico for the past month. He was the one that had been praying to God for answers and help to solve his drinking problem, then he found a Book of Mormon on the street and felt it was his answer. This happened about a month ago and we hadn't seen or heard from him since. So being in contact with him again is amazing! We started teaching his wife last week also. While we were teaching her, she put her hand over her heart and told us that she was feeling something she had never felt before. Before visiting with us, she had never sat down with people before to talk about Jesus Christ. It was her first time! We explained to her the feelings she was experiencing. It was wonderful. Only problem is, they have been living together for 40 years and aren't married yet! So our plan is to get them married and then baptized!
Man, I love being a missionary so much. It is truly the most rewarding thing I could ever do. And what's even better, is knowing I am in the field with my brothers and best friends doing the same thing! It's beautiful.Serving others really is the joy of life. Being in the service of your fellow beings really does pay off in many ways both spiritual and temporal. A lot of things happen in the mission and in life that we never expect, good and bad, and it's up to us how we react. We get to wake up every morning and choose how our attitude will be that day. No matter what happens, we must always remember that it is a part of God's plan. All of it. Every little detail. God is all knowing. His wisdom transendeth all human understanding. His power is supreme. He will perform His work and accomplish His purpose, and no man can prevent it.
I love you all. Have a splendid week.
