Happy New Year
I hope everyone had a blissful Christmas that was full of love and service. And HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL! May we all enter this new year with a steadfastness in Christ, striving to be better than last year. Hit the ground running with new goals! Always striving to do more. We will all come to realizations throughout our lives and think to ourselves, "I can do better". No matter how great everything is going, no matter how amazing life seems, we can ALWAYS do better. Our potential will never stop increasing with Jesus Christ walking beside us every step of the way.
This Christmas season was the best one yet! I came to realize the true meaning of the season. We spent Christmas with a couple families. They were extremely loving and kind, and shared their homes with us with great hospitality. Other than that, Christmas was a normal day. Missionary work never stops! And I love it. People often asked, "So do you get some time off for Christmas?" They were shocked to hear our responses. But what better way to spend Christmas than to teach and preach the restored gospel of our beloved Savior, the center of Christmas. I experienced pure joy giving and serving this beautiful season.
So our investigator Gus and his girlfriend Mayra (recent convert) are getting MARRIED!!! And even better, he wants to get baptized on the same day!! Two miracles in one. It's amazing. From the time I first met Gus until now, I have seen a HUGE change in him. First time we taught him, I didn't see one smile. He never said anything and I felt like he didn't really want to talk to us. We didn't give up on him! Now he is calling and texting us a whole bunch asking us when we're coming over. He's always smiling and is very interactive in our conversations and lessons. I love seeing the gospel change people. It's so beautiful.
Everything else is going well! My comp and I are best friends. We get along so well and have so much fun together.
I hope everyone enjoys their new year!! I love you all so much.

Real quick I forgot to include this funny experience!
So we were contacting on the main street in Hollister and we decided to take a left turn and go down this sketchy alley way. We saw two guys ahead of us so we contacted them. They were both latino and they both kind of had that gang look, they were all tatted up wearing jewerly and bandanas. They asked us for money and some other random stuff. We told them we had nothing, only a beautiful message to share. So we shared God's wonderful plan for us. Afterwards, the bigger guy of the two said, "So would you ever fight for your God?" and we answered, "Yes of course, if we needed to".Then he said, "Would you fight me right now for your God? Me against you two?" My companion assumed he was messin around and started laughing and stuff. Then all of a sudden I had this overwhelming feeling, telling me to get out of there. I noticed he had his hands in his huge hoody pockets the entire time. So I said "look we're not here to fight you, we just wanted to meet you guys and share a message, have a good night!" We got out of there pretty fast haha it was awesome.
