FELIZ NAVIDAD!!
I love the Christmas season!! Everything is so beautiful and there is always a certain feeling that covers the entire earth. It's the presence of the Spirit reminding us of the importance of this time of year. The birth of the savior and redeemer of the world, Jesus Christ.
It has been quite a hectic week!! But also an awesome week. We picked up a few new investigators and had 3 come to church! Our branch is small and a lot of the members aren't really into helping the missionaries with the work, a lot of them are strong and faithful in the gospel, but they're lazy. So in ward council we set some goals and talked about unifying the branch and pumping everybody up!! We need their help in finding people. We are living in the Restoration! We cannot sleep. We must continue Joseph Smith's work in spreading the restored gospel and feeding the Lord's sheep. At the time of Joseph's life, the church was not very large. But he knew it had a destiny to fill the entire earth because it is the kingdom of God on the earth once again, a kingdom that will stand forever!! I can testify of this with a complete surety of my heart. My faith and testimony will never waiver.
We had a few service activities this week and for one of them we went to an alpaca farm to help a lady with her alpacas. She has like 30 of them! It's insane. We helped trim their toenails and wash them. Let me tell you, alpaca's are not gentle animals. They will put up a fight. They're extremely timid of us and always run away. So we had to snare them and put them into a choke hold by grabbing their necks then flipping them over, hahaha it was so much fun.
So in church yesterday, two of our recent converts received the priesthood!! It was so lovely. The Lord has a lot in store for them and has prepared them well. We have two baptismal dates set for December 20!! And hopefully a couple more soon for the beginning of the year. The work is on fire and I love being a part of it!
So my companion has been feeling numbness from his waist down for the past few weeks. He has lost a lot of vision in his right eye and sometimes he can't feel his hands. So we have had to drive to San Jose this week to see a neurologist. He talked to the mission president and his parents and they think it's best that he goes home to get MRI's and a spinal tap. So, with that being said, I have no idea what's going to happen. I'll either stay here and I'll get a new companion, or I'll have to leave. I really hope I don't have to leave... I am just beginning to love this place beyond words. I have warmed up to the area and I love the people more than anything!! So we'll see what happens. I know that whatever happens, it is God's will.
I hope everyone has an amazing week and remember to share THE GIFT. For The Lord is and always will be, the first gift.
I love you all.
